This e-mail received just now from (deleted) includes an attachment
named "AnnaKournikova.jpg.vbs". Normally, a ".jpg.vbs" suffix indicates
an attempt to mislead recipients into believing they are opening a photo
when in fact they are executing a Trojan horse. So, you might just want
to check before this gets opened on a lot of systems.

Subj: Potential virus warning issued by Sidlinger Computer, please read first
Hello.
SCC has observed just now a volume of e-mail crossing our servers
with the subject line "Here you have, ;o)" and an attachment named
"AnnaKournikova.jpg.vbs". If you see this in your inbox, even from
a trusted sender (which will be the case), don't open it, as this
appears to me to be a self-replicating virus.

Subj: Additional warning about the "Anna" worm

OK, what we saw earlier this morning between SCCnet member sites is now
known to be nationwide and widespread: it's now the headline topic on
this major computer news web site: http://www.cnet.com/

http://www.cnet.com/software/0-3746.html?tag=st.cn.1.tlpg.3746

Please ask users to not open this. (Of course, users who never
open unexpected or unnecessary attachments (and especially
attachments ending in .vbs) won't be in danger.)

This is serious enough that I believe that SCCnet members who are in
turn ISPs should consider warning their customers. I think this will
be one of the big virus (worm) stories of the year, based on what I've
seen so far this morning and based on how much traffic I'm seeing on SCC's
various mail servers.
